Green Tea Matcha Bliss Bites
July 31st, 2017
Without a doubt, the most popular recipe on Happy Hungry Journey is for Raw Paleo Vegan Chocolate Energy Bites! Every now and then (very rare, a blue moon!), someone says they DON’T. LIKE. CHOCOLATE. After the crickets are all done chirping and everyone reconnects their bottom jaw that has dropped off from its hinge, I say no problem! I’ll make you my Matcha Bliss Bites instead! No biggie! I mean look how pretty they are!
These are dusted wth extra matcha green tea powder. The two on the left are rolled in hemp seed for some crunch!
These bliss bites are fun to make with your kids, since they provide busy work for little hands!
These serve as great to-go snacks for work. At work I eat them for breakfast at my desk plopped right on top of my gluten-free Homemade Chocolate Rawnola.
The green looks adorable in my favorite pink carrying case.
The recipe is exactly the same as the Chocolate Energy Bites, except you swap out the cacao powder for the matcha powder. It’s still grainless!
10 chopped dates
2 tbsp matcha green tea powder (I use U Matcha Natural by The Republic of Tea from Whole Foods.)
1 handful almonds
1 handful pecans
1 handful cashews
1 handful shredded organic coconut
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
Additional hemp seeds and / or shredded coconut for garnish
Blend together and form into bite-sized treats or use a mold to make your favorite bar shape. Roll on a cutting board or on top of parchment paper to coat with garnishes.
Yields about 20 bliss bites!
